Fun on the Freeway

I went home over the weekend. I didn't want to drive back on Sunday night so I decided to stay over one more night and go home this morning. I woke up kind of late and didn't get on the road until about ten after eight. I was driving down I-15 around the point of the mountain and I saw a wheelbarrow in the road. That's right a stinking wheelbarrow. On the freeway! It was in the far left lane, and a car was heading right for it. I guess he didn't see it or wasn't paying attention because he didn't change lanes or anything. Suddenly he swerves to avoid it but it was too late and he got hit on the side of his car by the wheelbarrow. He swerved very violently and started spinning out. He spun into the adjacent lane (my lane) and almost hit the car in front of me who also swerved to avoid hitting him and started spinning as well. So here I am going sixty miles an hour and two cars spinning out right in front of me. I slammed on my brakes and managed to swerve out of the way without joining the automobile ice capades that was taking place in front of me. Needless to say it shook me up a little bit.

Moral of the story: Wheelbarrows on the freeway are bad.

Upset

Ah, the happiest place on earth

So, Joe and I got back from our vacation last week and I guess it took me a little long to make the report. We spent our first night at Joe's aunt's house in St. George and the next morning went and picked up the Hafen's. We drove to L.A. that day. That night we went to dinner with Joe's cousin Matthew who works and lives in Santa Monica. He works for a video game company (electronic arts) designing the game "Medal of Honor". He's really fun and nice but we don't get to see him very often. We went to Beverly Hills and looked at the ritzy houses and Rodeo Drive and the temple after that. The next day we went to Disneyland. We got there at 7:45 and stayed until 11:15 it was a fun day, but it sure was a long one. Brandaige and I didn't go on as many rides as Ryan and Joe did because she is pregnant and I gave my stomach a rest some times, but I went on some fun ones (including "Its a Small world") The next day was Sea World, but it isn't as big so we only stayed until 4:00 and then we went to the beach and the San Diego temple. The next day we slept in (ahhhhh) and started home. Apparently L.A. residents like to go to Vegas on the weekends and we hit the traffic just right because it took us 5 hours to get out of L.A. Fun. It was definitely a fun trip and the Hafen's were a blast, but I made the definite decision that if it were my choice I wouldn't want to live in L.A. And don't worry siblings...I bought you some cheesy souveniers from the happiest place on earth!!!

Dialysis Reading

So today I'm at work..la la la. And I look over at one of my patients who is reading a book. What is she reading you ask? Yep, "Flowers in the Attic". I laughed a lot. I have never heard anyone mention that book and I have never seen anyone reading it. Where did we hear about it anyway???
